AT MUSÉE DES BEAUX-ARTS

Center Pompidou invites itself to the Centre-Val de Loire region

For its second edition, a Centre Pompidou star arrives at the Musée des Beaux-Arts: for six months, Made in Japan. La Grande odalisque (1964), an iconic work by Martial Raysse, joins the museum galleries for a plunge into French pop art! A signatory to critic Pierre Restany's Manifesto of New Realism in 1960, Martial Raysse explored classical visual culture, examining it through the sieve of the zeitgeist. Ingres' La Grande odalisquemeets the codes of manufactured objects and advertising aesthetics in a rereading of a masterpiece of French art.
