Discover the museums of Orléans with your classes! Learn to look at works of art and objects, understand their stories and mysteries, create and experiment during a workshop... So many ways to experience museums and make their collections your own!
Book
School groups are welcome on reservation, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9.30am to 5.45pm for guided tours and from 10am to 5.45pm for self-guided tours. Self-guided tours can be booked at any time of year, at least two weeks before the desired date.
For guided tours, bookings are made in three stages, depending on the time of year you wish to visit.
For tours between November 4 and December 19, bookings open on September 10 at 12 noon.
For visits between January 6 and April 10, bookings open on November 5 at 12pm.
For visits between April 28 and July 3, bookings open on January 7 at 12pm.
Self-guided visits are free of charge for all students and accompanying adults.
Accompanied visits are free of charge for schools in the Orléans-Tours Academy, and are subject to a fee of €40 per class for schools outside the Academy or not covered by an agreement with the French Ministry of Education.

Enjoy your meal!
Workshop visit
Let's enter this great museum to discover a work of art. Then, in the museum's workshop, we'll quickly put on our smocks and experiment with a plastic technique to bring a personal creation to life. The workshop visit lasts 1 h or 1 h 30, depending on age. The class is divided into two groups, alternating between discovering the paintings and creating their own artwork in the studio. Each group is supervised by a mediator.

Storytelling mornings

With your class, listen to the stories created around the works of art and performed by storyteller Kristof Le Garff... Enchanting for young and old alike! The session lasts 1 hour and takes place in the morning.

Animal portraits
Workshop visit
The museum again! Thanks to this two-session workshop-visit, students gain an in-depth understanding of the works and strengthen their links with the museum's collections. A workshop is developed over the course of the visit, giving students the opportunity to experiment and create a richer visual arts production with the mediators. The workshop-visit takes place over two 2-hour sessions, spread over two consecutive weeks. The class is divided into two groups, alternating between discovering the paintings and creating art in the workshop. Each group is supervised by a mediator.

After a whole-class presentation of the Hall of Antiquities and the history of the Neuvy-en-Sullias treasure, two parallel half-class activities are led by a mediator and the teacher to explore the subject in greater depth. An exploration booklet is provided for each student.

It evokes Japanese society as it opened up to the West, through porcelain, netsuke and okimono (Japanese ivory), theater masks and ukiyo-e (prints). Among these ukiyo-e, a rare series by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, donated to the museum by Louis Guillaume in 1901, raises questions about the perception of women in Japanese society, as well as among the Europeans who collected these images. The visit should be prepared in advance, using materials provided by the educational team. The class is divided into two groups for a self-guided tour (context, historical background) and a guided tour (immersing oneself in the objects and artifacts).
