Inauguration of the Musée d'Orléans

Inauguration on November 4 of the Musée d'Orléans, built up thanks to donations from Orléans residents. The daughter of Aignan-Thomas Desfriches donated four terracottas by Jean-Baptiste Pigalle from her father's collection, the merchant Pilté-Grenet a group of paintings from the Château de Richelieu and Delaborde, a customs inspector, the portrait of the Marquise de Pompadour by Drouais. 400 donors enabled 700 gifts to be received in the space of seven years.
