Embark with Eustache to the rhythm of the Loire

Hotel Cabu

The Marine de Loire is more alive than ever!

To keep you busy during the summer vacations, head to the Hôtel Cabu - Musée d'Histoire et d'Archéologie to discover the virtual reality system "Au rythme de la Loire", created by Extra Art. Comfortably seated in the modules on the museum's top floor, get ready for an audio and visual immersion in the heart of the Loire's economic boom, and embark with Eustache!

Three 3-4 minute episodes

La Marine de Loire

Discover the toue, a traditional flat-bottomed Loire boat, and meet the Orléans boatmen who developed the river trade in salt and sugar in the Loire basin.

Les Vinaigreries

Orléans' key position in the wine trade encouraged the growth of vinegar factories. Discover the traditional fermentation methods of Martin Pouret, master vinegar-maker since 1797.

Architecture

The city's prosperity led to the construction of numerous buildings, including the Pont Royal. Discover the city's development in the 18th and 19th centuries and its remarkable buildings!

At the end of this immersive journey, you'll find the objects featured in the episodes and other treasures from the Marine de Loire in the rooms of the Hôtel Cabu. Two modules are available to visitors, free of charge and with unrestricted access (children must be supervised by an adult).

You already know Extra Art!

They are behind the virtual tour of the exhibition Jean-Marie Delaperche (1771-1843), un artiste face aux tourments de l'Histoire, which can still be viewed at www.expodelaperche.extraart.fr.
